Around four years ago, I worked on mixing and mastering an album for the French artist Olivier Mobilhome Blues. The recording took place in Guadeloupe after the COVID-19 pandemic with limited resources but with talented musicians. After mastering the album but before its release, I sought professional feedback. I was enrolled in online courses by Andrew Scheps, who I regard as my mentor, through the Puremix platform. This platform is headed by Fabrice Dupont, a Grammy-winning sound engineer and producer known for his work with artists like Shakira, Snarky Puppy, and Bad Bunny.

While modern mixes typically center the drums and bass while panning the piano low-to-high across the spectrum, I opt for a strict ‘stage-perspective’ approach. By placing instruments in their natural physical positions and enhancing the depth with ambient reverb, I aim to preserve the sonic integrity of the ensemble.
